The class of 2nd grade, have prepared presentations at home by themselves about the solar system, maps, seasons...

We have also made a beautiful mural with healthy food and dishes we can try.

Every semester our students develop a concept they have learned about in Science

We also worked in teams to make our own book about animals and other things...

 

 

We learned so much in Music and Arts and hope forwards to another semester of learning and fun!

YEAR 4: PREZI and CONCEPTUAL MAP TO REVIEW ANIMALS

At this very moment, we are studying the animal kingdom in fourth grade. We are learning that animals can be classified in many different ways:

- Backbone (vertebrates and invertebrates)
- Nutrition (carnivores, herbivores...)
- Respiration (with gills, lungs...)
- Reproduction (oviparous, viviparous...)

Last year we did also studied animals and, if you remember, we teachers made a Prezi and a conceptual map to help you studying. Today we upload this material here, on the blog, so that you can use it and access to it whenever you want.

The diaphragm changes the amount of space inside our chest when we breathe in and out.

Year 4 students made a project using reclycled materials such as plastic bottles and straws. They had to simulate how our lungs work.

TIME AND HISTORY IN YEAR 3

Time and History is the name of the new unit we are about to start in year 3.

It is the first time we learn about history at school so it might be a little more complicated for some students. That is why daily reviewing is essential if you wish to have a good mark.

This week in Infantil we have been decorating fruit with chocolate.

In Year One we have been learning about parts of the town. They have also been learning about living and non-living things. For Grandparents Day they have made beautiful books about plants to gift their beloved Grandparents.

Year 6: Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde

Year 6: Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde

This month the students in Year 6 have read the story of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde. They were each given a chapter to condense down and re-write in groups, and then memorise in order to perform with the rest of their class at the end of the month. 

The childrens peformances were lovely, everyone worked very hard to make sure that they knew their lines, and some children even made props and costumes. The performances from all the classes in the year were recorded on a video camara, and the footage will hopefully be available soon.

Endangered Animals with Year Four

This month Year Four have been learning about endangered animals. They have been working together in groups to create beautiful presentations in English on coloured card. Each of them has printed out a picture of their groups chosen animal, and learned the information by heart. 

On Wednesday the children went down to Early Years to present tgheir group projects in English to the children in 5 Years.

Third Grade

In English, the students are learning about the equipment used for various water sports.  

In Social Science, they are studying the geography of Spain.  To help them learn the names of the autonomous communities and their capital cities, each class cut out and glued together a color-coded map.  Here are some photos:

USEFUL VIDEOS TO STUDY PLANTS IN 3RD GRADE

Hi everybody!!

Did you know that we cannot live without plants? Plants are crucial for humans. Thanks to them we can breath and live on this beautiful planet because they produce oxygen and help forming the ozone layer that protects us from dangerous sunrays.  These are some of the reasons why we study plants in third grade.

However, this unit is complicated due to the range of new and diverse vocabulary and concepts we should embrace. In order to make the learning easier, teachers invite you to watch the following videos:
