First Grade

For the past few weeks, first grade students have been studying body parts in both English and Natural Science.  To wrap up the units, each class drew a complete human body.  One student from each class was traced and colored.  Then, the students labeled the different body parts.  Here are some pictures of the process:

In Social Science, the children have been learning about the parts of a home.  To review, they were asked to make a picture of one room using magazine clippings.  Here is a picture of the students in 1°B assembling their projects:

Fifth Grade

Fifth Grade

This week, students are using the tragedy of  Pompeii to learn about past simple and past continuous tenses.  Below is a fun worksheet that will teach the children more about Mt. Vesuvius:

They´ve also been learning vocabulary to use on an adventure holiday.  In their English books, the students have been reading a travel blog.  You can direct them to this blog for information and ideas on starting their own, if they´re interested.  Blogger and wordpress are excellent blogging platforms.

Fourth Grade

This week in fourth grade we have been studying adjectives as well as the past simple verb tense.  Let your kids interview you about how you were when you were young to practice at home!

In Natural Science, we´re learning about healthy and unhealthy habits.  The kids have been working on a presentation about how to stay healthy.  Ask them to share what they´ve learned with you!  Here´s a worksheet to help you plan healthy meals each day.

This week in Third Grade...

In Natural Science, we´re looking at the animal kingdom.  The children are learning about vertebrates and invertebrates and how to classify the animals within these subcategories.  Here´s a short video to help your kids study:

In Social Science, we´re finishing up the unit on maps and how to read them.  Practice finding coordinates at home with this latitude/longitude game: http://www.kidsgeo.com/geography-games/latitude-longitude-map-game.php

In English, we are learning about chores.  How do your kids help at home? You can practice their new vocabulary by including them in everyday routines!
